FESTIVAL

Move Fest Košice is a festival of contemporary dance, new circus, and physical theatre. An event during which you can see various forms of movement and experience and feel them.

The festival is organized by the civic association PST – Space for Contemporary Dance which supports and develops the audience for contemporary dance. The history of the Košice festival is closely linked to the organization Move Ostrava which initiated the festival in the Czech Republic – Move Fest Ostrava. Thanks to local and international collaborations, they have brought the atmosphere of dance, movement, and extraordinary experiences to Košice since 2018.

The festival features unconventional performances, magical visual-art presentations, a variety of movement genres, interesting accompanying events, opportunities for interactive participation, insights into the dance community, movement experiments, physical theatre, a new circus, and creative work by performers from various corners of Europe.

The civic association PST – Space for Contemporary Dance was founded in 2016 by Kat Rampáčková and Michaela Sabolová. Their common goal is to integrate contemporary dance into the everyday lives of residents and build and develop their audience. In addition to Move Fest Košice, the association organizes professional educational activities through various workshops for adults, children, and youth. They produce dance performances and projects focused on the inclusion of people with different abilities. Through collaboration with international partners, they engage in international projects.
